MSO was established in 1977 in the historic city of Aligarh. Since its inception, MSO has grown into one of the most prominent student organizations in the country. The organization is currently headquartered in New Delhi.

MSO India is widely recognized as one of the largest Muslim student bodies in India, with a strong and active presence across the nation from Kashmir in the north to Kerala in the south, and from Rajasthan in the west to Manipur in the east. Today, MSO is actively working in 21 states, engaging students at grassroots as well as national levels.

The organization firmly stands against all forms of violence and terrorism. MSO strongly condemns any inhuman acts or aggression against innocent people anywhere in the world, advocating for peace, justice, and humanity.

MSO believes that the teachings of Sufi Islam rooted in peace, mutual cooperation, love, brotherhood, and communal harmony offer a meaningful and practical path toward establishing global peace and coexistence. The organization promotes these values among youth to build a more inclusive and compassionate society.
